Learning and development is an integral part of the Hunter Douglas culture. All employees are provided with formal and informal learning opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills in an effort to build the capability of individuals, teams and our organisation. Further education at a TAFE or University is also encouraged by Hunter Douglas. After 12 months of employment at Hunter Douglas, an employee may apply for study assistance.
Hunter Douglas routinely runs a Vacation Care program to provide parents with subsidised assistance to help care for their children during school holidays while they are working. This offers employees a safe environment for their children to enjoy a variety of activities, games and excursions.
The Rydalmere & Yatala sites have active and subsidised Social Clubs which offer an opportunity for all employees to develop good relationships with their fellow work mates by social interaction in a fun environment. Regular functions organised by the Social Club usually include a monthly barbecue or themed lunch, a mid-year and end-of-year Christmas function at an upmarket venue with all food, drinks and entertainment provided, and a children’s Christmas picnic.
